Janet has been helping businesses understand their target audience(s) and succeed in the marketplace for the past 20+ years and now leads our Retail and Consumer Practice. Her strong background in consumer products and services includes a specialized focus on retailers and the retail sector. This experience provides Janet with a rich knowledge of consumer behaviour and attitudes, consumer trends, and the evolving retail environment in Canada and the U.S.

Janet's work with a diverse mix of retailers and brands also provides her with broad background understanding of market dynamics, from leading brands through to new brands, from new or emerging markets through to mature and challenged markets, and from price players through to image players. Particular areas of expertise include brand / banner positioning and equity, market understanding and performance tracking, banner strategy (including acquisition), consumer segmentation, motivations and drivers, and new initiative assessment.

On the technical side, Janet has extensive experience in research design and methodologies, and the application of advanced analytical techniques to business issues.

David is a Vice President with Angus Reid Strategies, based in Toronto.  His areas of specialization include brand positioning research, market segmentation, usage & attitude research and concept testing.  Prior to joining Angus Reid Strategies, David worked at a global boutique research consultancy where he conducted quantitative and qualitative research across multiple sectors, including telecommunications, retail, beverage alcohol, financial services, government and not-for-profit.  David is also an experienced focus group moderator.

David has an Undergraduate degree in Economics from McGill University and a Masters degree in Journalism from Carleton University.  He has also worked at several media outlets, including the Ottawa Citizen, Report on Business Television and the CBC.

As a Vice President with Angus Reid Strategies, Dara is based in Toronto and specializes in retail. Dara is a well-rounded research professional, having been in the industry for almost ten years. Her experience has run the full gamut of both qualitative and quantitative research initiatives.

In addition to being an experienced focus group moderator, Dara's quantitative experience spans a variety of study types including brand strategy, brand positioning and performance, usage and attitude, customer satisfaction, brand tracking and product optimization. Dara also has experience across a broad range of sectors, with a particular focus on retail, shopper understanding and property management and development.

Dara has an Honours Psychology degree, a post-graduate Research Analyst diploma and is currently completing her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh.
